ESG in a Nutshell

ESG (Essential Survival Gear) started out with me just building small everyday carry kits with Altoids cans and small odds and ends. Over the years I began adding and removing items, upgrading to better quality items as I went, until eventually ending up with the kits I have now. My good friend, Dave, helped to brainstorm possibilities for marketing and refining the kets. We went camping and hiking, testing various survival methods, and found that the cheap stuff really doesn't cut it in a survival situation. You get what you pay for, and you can't skimp on the quality. So each kit I made used the best products I could find, without breaking the bank. The result was a small, easy to carry, waterproof survival kit that was durable, yet fairly light, and had tools I could rely on to get the job done, while conveniently fitting into your pocket or pack. These kits are great to take with you on hiking trips, ski trips, and mountain biking. They're perfect for Travel, Hiking, Camping, Cycling, Hunting, Snow, Water, & Motor Sports! Keep one in the car, or in your bug out bag. The possibilities are endless!

I hand make each kit and test for quality. ESG is still very much a small business (just me and a buddy so far), but I hope to grow and be able to make more than 5 kits at a time. Eventually I hope to be as big as Gerber someday. We'll see.

About Me

I'm a graphic designer, a musician, and an IT engineer. I love art, music, fast cars, going to the gym, staying fit, technology, the outdoors, spending quality time with friends and family, and enjoying life. I love the outdoors and outdoor sports like hiking, rock climbing, camping, backpacking, swimming, mountain biking, and kayaking.

I'm originally from New York, and I moved to San Diego after being in the Marine Corps for 8 years.

My passions are outdoor activities, art, and music. I'm currently unemployed and looking for work. I have two professions (other than building awesome survival kits); IT/Systems Engineering and graphic design and web development. I created all of the branding design and marketing for ESG and E-Designs myself. (website, logo, graphics, etc.)
